In my experience some large companies contract external lawyers to monitor and prosecute trademark/patent issues and it is in the external lawyer's interest to make as much fuss over nothing as they can (and doesn't necessarily reflect the views of their client at this stage).
I would advise you don't cause any unnecessary friction and remove any names until you have more information.
Also there is a specialist firm in London who can handle these issues that we have used before (Williams Powell). We use these rather than our regular lawyers for IPR issues.

So as mad as it makes me to see a company like FedEx enforcing a bullshit patent on you, I am still a little jealous that they did not do it to me:)
